The Sit&Tell Project is brought together storytellers and designers to participate in a community-based art project that sought to connect communities through pulling up a chair and sharing stories of positivity about Strong Women of Toledo. A product of the AIGA Toledo chapter. 100 chairs were created based on the stories told. A closing ceremony held at the Toledo Museum of Art displayed all 100 where artists were able to meet the storytellers. Following the ceremony, an online auction let the public bid on each chair. Proceeds benefited Toledo Neighborhoods which provides art opportunities for young children.
My story was told by a local nurse. It included memories of her mentor, as she began working in the medical field. Hear the story and see my full design explanation here.
